WRIGHT & MCGILLTRANSITIONAL
LATE 1947
AVAILABLE GRADES
Wright & McGill purchased Granger Rods in 1946 and began selling rods in 1947. The earliest W&M rods used components from remaining Goodwin Granger inventory. The most identifiable “cross-over” component is the Goodwin Granger ferrules. The scribe marks are narrower when compared to the later W&M ferrules. All W&M rods (including Transitional era rods) have Wright & McGill stamped reel seats.
Available grades listed in the 1947 Wright & McGill Catalog were: Registered, Premier, DeLuxe, Favorite, Aristocrat, Special, Victory, and the Champion (which was the only W&M rod with a slide-band reel seat.)
